Integrity Engineering Named August Business of the Month

In the mid 1990’s Terris Cates and Jack Mentink, both employed by other engineering entities, began to have separate desires to start an engineering company that provided professional services with honesty and integrity. They communicated the ideas to one another and shortly thereafter in March of 1996, Integrity Engineering, Inc. was incorporated. Integrity had its humble beginnings in the basement of Terris Cates’ residence located just east of Rolla, Missouri.

Both of the principals made an early commitment to start and operate the company without debt. In order to accomplish this goal, the company started with Terris working full time while Jack, still employed full time as a City Engineer in Sullivan Missouri, worked nights and weekends to establish the company. The company continued to grow, gain additional clients, and within nine months, the basement of the Cates’ residence was too small to house the growing business.

Within eighteen months, Integrity Engineering moved to an office on South Rolla Street, and hired its first two employees. Within a year this office was outgrown, and the company had the opportunity to purchase a building on South Rolla Street. This office quickly was out grown, and in early 1999, the owners of Integrity Engineering purchased its present 4700 square foot corporate headquarters, located at 1714 East Tenth Street in Rolla, that includes a dedicated space for the materials testing lab as well as office space for the growing company.
