The Annual Enrollment for Medicare is October 15 to December 7. This is the time that everyone with an individual Medicare Health plan should visit with his/her agent to discuss if there needs to be any changes made. This year there are several new plans offered so it is a good time to look at what you have and see if you might save with another plan or get richer benefits.
Medicare has many preventive procedures that are at no cost. You can visit Medicar.gov to see what they are, or you can go to the Medicare app at Medicare.gov in app store. If you have questions on what Medicare covers, you can find most answers in the app.
The Open Enrollment for under 65 is November 1 to December 15th. This is when people on individual major medical plans can change their plans. This is the only time during the year that you can get or change a major medical plan unless you have a special enrollment circumstance, for example loss of insurance due to loss of employment or marriage or divorce or change in income.
It is always advisable to go through an agent when getting a health insurance plan. Agents are paid by the company that they are associated so it costs no more to go through an agent. Local agents know the hospitals and doctors that are in network and know your area so they can better help you lead a healthier life.
