Leadership Phelps County

Leadership Phelps County is a community leadership program comprised of leaders representing various businesses and organizations from throughout Phelps County.

The purpose of Leadership Phelps County is to increase the capacity of individuals and organizations that can address community problems effectively by mobilizing the human and social resources in the community to common purposes.  Each participant in this program is both a learner and a teacher and is expected to share his or her knowledge and expertise with the group.

This program combines site visits, presentations, leadership and experiential learning activities.  The program began with a two-day retreat, followed by six full day events focusing on Personal Development and Teambuilding, Quality of Life, Local Government, Education, Health and Community Services and State Government as well as participation in a community service activity.  Meeting sites for this program are rotated among communities in Phelps County.
